Piano Dream

I was immediately drawn to this kit upon seeing it, placing an order, and kitting it up as soon as it arrived. Everything started well enough, though quickly took a bit of a turn. Most of the colours in my kit were full of trash drills, and I mean way more than you would expect from a DAC kit. I nearly ran out of a few colours because I threw away heaps of drills with holes or extra tabs attached. Many of the drills were also inconsistently sized, leading to gaps on some parts of the canvas, and severe bunching in others. The drills are almost all slanting when placed, too, which I don't quite understand as I've never encountered this issue with a square drill kit before. The artwork is gorgeous, the canvas is soft and nice to work with, but those drills... I have 4 sections left to go and I'm not even sure I will finish. I shouldn't want to burst into tears of frustration while working on a project, and this one has gotten me quite close, more than once. At least, when you stand back from the canvas by a few feet, it doesn't look as awful as it does when you're right up on it. It's possible I just got a poorly put-together kit because I know others who have done this one without a problem.

Since I play piano I was immediately drawn to this rendering. Lots of purple but with so many different shades it turned out stunning. Purple happens to be my favorite color and piano is my favorite instrument . . . so win win!

I loved the artwork for this diamond painting! It is one of my favorites from DAC. My only critique would be that the drills have inconsistent sizing. Some of the drill colors will fit perfectly within the grid, but most of the drill colors are slightly smaller than the canvas grid. This makes it more difficult to evenly place the drills and creates significant gaps through out the artwork which I find unpleasant. While this is personally frustrating for me, it may not bother others as much. So I would still give this a fairly high rating because of the design of the art and the shine quality of the drills.

This is my first DAC kit and so far I'm having a lot of fun with this! The rendering and colors pop out very well under any lighting, and for a purple lover like me this is definitely a keeper and complements my other purple stuff at home :)
