After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

This painting is absolutely beautiful - the tiger is the focal point of course, but the sparkling foliage and elephants really tie it all together as a gorgeous safari-scape. I couldn't stop working on this and have another Dakota Daetwiler ready to go!
