Cat Bookshelf

This was my first DAC and the largest project I’ve done to date. Really pleased with how it turned out. It is so sparkly - the pictures do not do it justice. The drills were very good…as often happens, a few dark colours had a bit more trash (surprisingly the black was great, but the darker greens and browns had a bit more trash), but I still had plenty of drills to finish the project. I have given it 5 stars, however, I would give just a word of warning to anyone doing this canvas as their first DAC, and that is to watch some of the symbols very closely. The symbols for black and really dark brown are very similar at a glance - I didn’t realize they were different at first and had to remove a patch of drills. By the end of the project I didn’t have an issue distinguishing, but as I had only done smaller projects (with much fewer colours), this caught me a bit off guard at first. I do not feel this merits a lower rating, but just thought I’d mention if this is anyone’s first large project to take care.

I loved working on this. It was actually the first one I purchased. I took some of the blank and duplicate spines and personalized it.

Cat Bookshelf was given to me as a birthday gift by my husband. I absolutely loved the artwork but as a first time diamond painter I was intimidated by the size. I finally picked it up about 7 months later, and once I started I couldn't stop until I was done. Uncovering each of the kitty faces as I worked through the books was such a treat. In the end, the size didn't matter. I made it work with an inexpensive collapsible table from my local hardware store. The end result is amazing. I plan on framing it, but until I get that done, I have it pinned on the wall.
