If you’re new to diamond painting, you have come to the right place! Below are step-by-step instructions on how to get started. It’s very easy, and anyone can do it!

New Twist & Pick Tool Kit Diamond Painting Instructions

New Twist & Pick Tool Kit Diamond Painting Instructions
  • Every diamond painting kit from Diamond Art Club® includes a self-adhesive canvas, diamond drills, a twistable diamond applicator (pen), extra putty, a tray with a stopper and reusable bags.
  • Remove all items from the package.
  • Lay your canvas out on a clean, flat surface. On the canvas, you’ll notice a chart outlining which symbols correspond with the numbers for each diamond color. Use this chart to match the colors in your kit with their corresponding symbols.
  • Choose a diamond color to start with. Pour a few diamonds of your chosen color into the tray with the stopper in place. Hold the tray at a slight angle and gently shake it back and forth to help the diamonds settle right side up.
  • It’s best to work on one section at a time when diamond painting. Peel back a small section of the plastic cover to expose the area you want to work on. Remember to replace the plastic to cover the canvas when you are not working on it.
  • Your kit comes with a pre-filled, twistable diamond painting pen. The tip contains putty, which gently adheres to diamonds, allowing you to pick them up and place them on the canvas.
  • Remove the pen’s cap and touch the tip to a diamond to pick it up. Then, carefully place the diamond onto its corresponding symbol on the canvas.
  • When your pen stops picking up diamonds, pinch and remove the old putty from the tip. Twist the pen to extrude more putty.
  • If your pen runs out of putty, don’t worry. Simply refill it. First, unscrew and remove the pen’s tip and cartridge. Roll putty into a small cylinder and press it into the cartridge. Then, replace the cartridge and tip. Remove excess putty from the tip, and you’re ready to start painting again.
  • Repeat the process until your shimmering masterpiece is complete!
  • To store your diamond drills between sessions, carefully remove the stopper from the tray and pour the drills into a reusable bag or container.
  • When your diamond painting is complete, adding a frame is the perfect finishing touch.

Original Tool Kit Diamond Painting Instructions

  • Your diamond painting kit will include a canvas, diamond applicator (pen), wax and tray. Remove all of the items from the package.
  • Lay out the canvas on a clean, flat surface. You will notice that printed directly on the canvas is a chart with your diamonds that are labeled with a number that corresponds to a symbol. You will need to match the corresponding color of diamonds to the symbols and place them on the canvas accordingly.
  • Choose a single diamond color to get started. Pour a small amount of diamonds in the tray. If you hold it at a slight angle and gently shake it back and forth, the diamonds will settle right side up so they are facing the correct way to pick them up with the applicator.
  • Peel back a small section of the plastic film to work on at one time. It's best and easiest to work on a small section at a time. It is important to keep the canvas covered when you aren't working on it.
  • A pink square that comes with the kit is the wax. Peel back the clear plastic on the wax, and dip the tip of the applicator to fill it with wax.
  • You can then pick up the diamonds as they will easily stick to the tip of the applicator. Once picked up, carefully press the diamond onto its corresponding symbol on the canvas.
  • Always remember to add a little bit more wax if the pen seems like it doesn't pick up the diamonds anymore.
  • Repeat the process until you are done!
  • A recommended final touch to completing a good diamond painting is to put it in a suitable frame to hang up in your home. The experience is fulfilling and you will be able to showcase your work!
