Selecting the perfect diamond painting kit for your next project isn’t just about choosing a design you love. It’s also important to consider the size. Are you looking for something small to complete and give as a gift? Or for a large piece to use as the focal point in your living room? What style of art do you prefer? How realistic do you hope the finished art will be? When considering which size diamond painting kits to buy, these are all things to ask yourself.

Diamond paintings come in a variety of sizes, ranging from small greeting cards to large canvases measuring 30” x 35” (or more). Smaller ones are ideal for beginners' diamond art kits because they take less time to complete, while more experienced artists may prefer larger paintings. Ultimately, the decision is up to you, but there are a few factors you may want to consider when selecting a diamond painting

Detail

The size of a diamond painting plays a significant role in how detailed it is. Smaller canvases tend to have less complexity than larger ones. Basically, the more diamonds used to create an image, the more realistic and intricate the finished painting will be. The diamond drills’ shape matters, too. If you don’t want gaps between your diamonds, try out a square drill kit for a more seamless looking mosaic.

Display Location

If you plan to display the finished painting in your home, think about where you will hang it. Larger canvases are great if you have room for them, but you may want to stick with a smaller one if you have less wall space. Keep in mind, too, that the size of the canvas is actually slightly larger than the image. This means that when you frame or otherwise display the finished piece, it won’t be quite as big as the dimensions you see when ordering.

Personal Preference

While it’s important to consider a painting’s size, don’t let that deter you from ordering a kit you love. As long as you weigh the pros and cons of each kit’s different qualities, you can decide whether a particular one is right for you.
