James A. Meger couldn’t remember a time in his life that he didn’t want to be an artist. His rural upbringing and his love of nature were the inspirations for his paintings and he often dreamed of combining these loves with a career. After completing his B.F.A., James served as a combat officer in Vietnam for 14 months. Eventually, he ended up teaching back in Minnesota, but he still dreamed of painting. With a lot of outside encouragement, he gave up teaching and six weeks later won the Minnesota State Duck Stamp Competition for 1980. His career took off from that point garnering numerous awards including over 15 Best of Show and Popular Choice awards at major national shows around the country. James died of cancer on August 25, 2011 and is survived by his wife, Laurene; and daughter, Elise.

Together Wolves was so much fun to work on. It's beautiful and sparkly as always. This canvas had the new perforated plastic (before the red lines) and it was nice to work with. First larger canvas that I did not rip the plastic off of and use release papers. This was also my first Treasure Quest Card!

I loved doing this diamond painting. I got many hours of enjoyment out of this painting and the final result was gorgeous. The art rendering is amazing and the finished painting looks so much like the original. Can’t beat the quality from DAC.
