After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

This project took me a long time to complete, but it was well worth it! It’s also the biggest project I’ve done to date. I did it as a gift for my dad, and he was amazed. The depth, detail, and beauty is just astounding! I was very, VERY pleased with how this turned out. Best one yet! Thank you!

This one is going up in my living room. It has incredible depth and it really looks like the moon is shining off the water. It’s the largest I’ve ever done and took about 5 weeks to complete. Some color blocking in the sky but mostly small bits of line blocking and confetti. I added sparklers from dp with sparklers in the stars( black diamond, mystery blue, day break) outlining the tentacles (light peach) and under the water( mystery blue and various other blue crystals) as well as Big Bubbles for squares in River. Enjoyed the process and love the finish.
