I enjoyed doing this one and I enjoy the final, colorful product. Compared to other DAC kits I've done, I really liked the shading in this one and the fact that there was NO outlining! It was a nice change of pace from DAC rendering style I'm most familiar with. The overall palette was nice and it was fun making it through the canvas plant by plant. :) By my standards, Desert Bloom isn't wildly confetti-heavy, but there obviously weren't huge sections of color-blocking either, even in the cool background pattern, which also made it fun for me. Even though this artwork has a lot of detail, I don't think it took me more than an average amount of time to complete.
As for the kit materials, of course the drill quality was great with very minimal trash. The colors are so rich! I liked the special drills and their placement in this one as well. This was my first encounter with fairy dust drills. They're very pretty; they're also pretty subtle but I liked working with them a lot. The canvas quality was nice as always. It feels like DAC canvases are made of some luxury, ergonomic material somehow; they really feel gentle on your hand while placing. While the DAC rendering style and art selection aren't always at the very top of my list (probably a good thing $ :), the dependable, high drill & canvas quality are what bring me to DAC. On all points, Desert Bloom was a satisfying success!
